Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"At a loss for words with how amazing this place is. The food is made to order and there is no question how high of quality they have invested in. Home made pasta, fresh sauces, even house made kombucha! We had the bolognese and the barbacoa pasta. Both are exceptional, but there was something so unique about the barabacoa pasta. I could eat ten plates of it! Will be back!!"
"Nice people. Food was tasty, but was missing a little something to make it stand out. Also, not very much meat in the bolognese meat sauce. This booth-type restaurant is one of many kiosks located in a shared co-op like space. There is only counter service with bar seating for up to 4 people; not a regular restaurant type facility with many tables, however, there are public shared spaces with a few tables within 50 feet (15 meters)."
"Incredible dinner and pasta. As someone who’s been to Naples many times, I can confidently say the pasta here is cooked perfectly. The menu offers amazing options with bold, well-balanced flavors. We ordered the bolognese and the vegetable pasta, both outstanding. Watching the chef cook right in front of you makes the experience even more special. A truly great spot in CDMX highly recommend!"
"I have nothing to say. The guy running this place in a food hall deserves a 5/5. The atmosphere is great, the service is incredible, the food is amazing and most important of all it is clean. we had a great conversation with the owner doing the pastas, he’s very friendly. He’s doing an incredible job to keep his pastas consistent. I personally took the boloñesa which is has amazing twist on mexican flavors, bold, a little bit of spice and overall great flavor, pastas were al dente!! What I really liked about this place is that all their pastas are made fresh on the spot, you cannot get better than this. The portion are great and to be honest for what he’s offering the price is totally worth it and affordable. I would highly recommend you this spot. More mexicans should visit this place especially if they want to try a fusion between mexican and italian, mexitalian food."
"Visited Pasta Mestiza, tucked inside a food hall, and it ended up being one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in CDMX. Chef and owner Roberto creates his dishes with inspiration pulled from multiple cultures, and you can feel that intention in every bite. He makes fresh pasta daily, and watching each dish come together layer by layer was part of the experience. Roberto was incredibly warm and welcoming, taking time to explain the inspiration and construction behind every dish. It felt personal, thoughtful, and rare. The pesto with mushrooms was outstanding. Easily some of the best pesto I’ve had. The toasted mushrooms tied everything together beautifully and added depth without overpowering the dish. The barbacoa pasta was also freshly prepared, and Roberto walked us through how the sauce was built from start to finish. The flavors were rich, balanced, and honestly unforgettable. We finished with a dessert inspired by the Middle East, knafeh, and once again got to see every layer come together. It was a true palate experience and executed extremely well. Overall, this was more than just a meal. It was a full culinary experience led by a very talented chef. In another setting, this could easily be a high-end dining concept. I have no doubt Roberto’s talent will take him far, and I feel fortunate to have experienced his food in such an intimate space. Cheers, Roberto, from your Texas friend, Robert"
"What a fabulous experience to sit and watch creativity and brilliance at the same time! Who would think that a food court would create such a wonderful experience and exceptional food! Don’t hesitate – head down there right now – and be prepared to wait a little bit, but it is worth it"
"When in Roma (Mexico City), get the pasta. You cannot go wrong with pasta so far in this town. This is the best handmade pasta I've had so far here at Pasta Mestiza. Seriously could be the other Roma, except the bolognese is distinctively Mexican which i am glad of. Extra points for a healthy pour of the vino Blanco! Keep up the great work and great wine options. #pastamestiza #mercadoroma #CDMX #cdmx_oficial"
"So happy to have dined here. The Arrabbiata Salsa Macha was amazing and it’s made right in front of you. It tasted fresh and had a distinct flavor profile. The chef was friendly and explained what went into the pasta. It’s also vegetarian friendly. Highly recommend this place!"
